PACING ESTRATEGY IN CYCLING WITH BEST BIKE SPLIT
You’ve perfectly prepared your next triathlon or cycling event, but, are you sure what pacing strategy is the most suitable to optimize the result or achieve your goal? With Best Bike Split we make a simulation based on:
- Characteristics of the event: profile, characteristics of the ground and orography, weather conditions, wind etc.
- Cyclist’s/triathlete’s profile: Functional Threshold Power (FTP)”, weight, height, experience, …
- Bike’s characteristics: weight, components, wheels type, position on the bike, …
We can even make an estimate of your aerodynamic coefficient with Aero Analyzer, checking your workouts FIT files and from the power, elevation, atmospheric conditions, wind etc, data.

Click on the button below to watch an example of a simulation of the bike segment from the Vitoria Ironman 70.3.
With all this information you will be able to determine which is the best strategy for your race: You will see the profile of the bike segment and the optimal watts to be developed in each section, you will know what wind you will have and in what direction, as well as the impact of that wind on the estimated time and power, you will know in advance very accurately the time you will get or the watts you must move to get the desired time, you will see the effect that the power variations have in the final time, and you can even load the plan Race on your Garmin device and see in real time the optimal watts km to km during race (*).
(*) Consult compatible devices. Since each device is different, we can not support the installation of apps or load files on the computer, only the necessary instructions and files are provided.
If you prefer, we can analyze the results of the simulation in detail. With this analysis we will elaborate a report in which we will define the most relevant sections of the test and the strategy to be followed in each one of them.
